Marketing is one of those subjects that doesn’t sit still so learning on the job and off the job is really important to stay on top of trends and technology.

Being a Chartered Marketer means I have to do CPD and this lets me learn from professional bodies for the benefit of my clients and my own knowledge.

My History

I’ve been working in marketing all my life, I studied Marketing at BCU, did a placement year with the Environment Agency and then started my career with Caterpillar in the marketing team at the Leicester Visitor Centre.

I then worked in a few different roles in marketing in lots of different industries and each and every role taught me something new and I had lots of great opportunities from organising training sessions in Malaga, winning awards, handing out sporks and bacon rolls at 4am in a Police station to managing a community sponsorship campaign to hand out grants for great causes.

I worked in the private sector and the public sector so seeing the different ways marketing works the world was incredibly fascinating. Oh and then there were the joys of compliance and legal, the poor people that ended up having to deal with me and my never-ending questions!

In 2017, I started studying again and in 2018 qualified with a CIM level 7 qualification, I’m not going to lie, it was hard. Studying part time, whilst going through a restructure and searching for a new job but I did it and then remained a CIM member ever since. Its very easy to get lost in the day to day of marketing and I was determined to stay on top of my marketing knowledge.

How being a Chartered Marketer helps me

So, I used the CIM CPD system to make sure I was keeping my knowledge and skills up to date and that means you can trust me and my team when it comes to your business. I make sure I keep up to date with knowledge and can use this to help you grow your business using the tools that are right for you.
